MBLL Assiniboine Open Tournament & Crusty Bun Tournament
Join us in the first 2 tournaments of our MTTA 2025-2026 Tournament Circuit. This event will be full of high-level competition and tons of Fun. Click on the link below to register and pay your fees.
There will cash awards (total $3365) and trophies for winners of each categories.

You must be an MTTA member for the active season. You can become one here:
Senior Member (20 years or older): Membership Form – MTTA
Junior Member (19 years or younger): Junior Membership Form – MTTA
YOU MUST:
- Dress code
- Pair of shorts or Bermuda shorts
- Short-sleeved T-shirt or Polo (must not be white)
- Running shoes (multisport, table tennis, tennis, badminton, etc.)
- Rackets
Own an ITTF approved racket.
We provide:
- Balls for warming up
- Tables

- 10:00 am – Gym Doors Open
- 11:00 am – Active for Life Singles
- 11:00 am – Junior Singles
- 2:00 pm – Beginner Singles
- 2:00 pm – Para Singles
- 4:00 pm – Open Singles
- 8:00 pm – Group stage of the Crusty Bun Cup
- 11:00 Pm – Gym Closes
- 8:30 am – Gym Door opens
- 9:30 am – Continuation of Group Stage of The Crusty Bun Cup
- 12:00 pm – Knockout of the Crusty Bun Cup
- 4:00 Pm – Gym closes and clean up
- Junior Singles player must be 19 years or younger on the day of the event. Open to all levels.
- Active 4 Life Singles player must be 40 years or older on the day of the event. Open to all levels.
- Open Singles this is for All players, All Levels.
- Open Doubles open to all player’s ages and levels.
- Beginner Singles is an event open to all ages with a rating requirement x equal or lower than 300 points.
- Para Event you need to have a classification for para-athletics to participate in this event.
- Teams can be conformed by 2-4 members on each team.
Assiniboine Open
EVENT FORMAT
All events are “MULTIPLE STAGE”. i.e. Based on ability – as defined by rating level – players are evenly distributed into preliminary groups of 3-5 players. Then, based on the results of these “P-Groups”, players advance to FINAL PLAY IN DIVISIONS 1-4, i.e. if you finish 2nd in your preliminary group, you advance to play in the 2nd division etc. FINAL PLAY may be single knockout or groups depending on # of entrants. All players, all levels, have a chance to win a division and a prize!
The Crusty Bun Cup
Matches will be played in the best of 5 format (Corbillon Cup system: 4 singles and 1 doubles). A team shall consist of 2, 3, or 4 players.
The order of play will be:
- A vs X
- B vs Y
- Doubles
- A vs Y
- B vs X
RULES
International Table Tennis Federation Rules govern all play. Players must be members in good standing of the M.T.T.A. All matches are best 3/5 games to 11.
note: changes can be made depending on time and number of participants.

The Crusty Bun Cup
Each Team (Min 2 players Max 4) must pay their entry fee before the deadline. Early bid Entry Fee of $180 (before September 20th) after Sept 20th the cost will be $200 per team.
